The Dog In Me Makes Me Do It
Mom was sitting at her computer the other day downloading pictures from her camera when she saw me at the door wanting to come in. That is something I do quite often is go in and out, in and out. Sometimes Mom gets annoyed by this but if I could let myself in and out there would be no problem. I'm thinking doggie door! Hello.... Mom..... did you hear me? Doggie Door! Anyway, back to my story. So, Mom lets me in and I run straight to her bedroom and jump on her bed. No this isn't good so off I go to my toys. Sniff...sniff... Hummmmm. I went over to where Mom was on her computer and started crying because I was not sure what to do with this tasty morsel I had in my mouth. Mom looked down and said, " Trooper what's the matter? Why are your crying? So, I showed her and opened my mouth and dropped it at her feet. Well, she started screaming Yuk, Trooper what is that? It doesn't have a head! It was a mouse that I got from the cat. Barney gave it to me but I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to bring it in the house. Mom was all upset and took it away from me and put it in the trash. Oh well, I am a dog after all. That's what we dogs do. The next best thing to dead mice are Dad's dirty socks. Yummy! Mom gets disgusted with that too and will not let me take them to bed. This morning I woke up bright and early and to Mom's dismay I had one of Dad's dirty socks on the bed. I really do try to please her but the dog in me makes me do it!

I am feeling a bit confused and sad today. You see, my big sister Casey did not come home last night?? She likes to go out in our big back field and I think Mr. Fox might have gotten her. He got a bunch of our chickens a few weeks ago. Mom is sad and said she is going to call around to see if maybe someone picked her up because they did not know where she lived. I went outside this morning to look around for her and decided to sit on the big rock and scout things out. I keep thinking I hear her so I run around looking for her. Woof, Woof? No Casey Dog. I feared I have lost my sister.... Mom told me all dogs go to heaven and for this I am thankful. Casey showed me the ropes when Mom first brought me home as a puppy and for this I will always remember her. I am going to curl up in the chair next to her bed for a while.
